Send Love to United Kingdom - Charity Exchange about Learning from Social Enterprises

1. In response to the request of the winners of the Fervent Global Love of Lives Award, John M. Hull (Blind Scholar) and John Bird (Poverty Savior), Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation signed agreements with sister foundations – jointly motivating the social enterprises to help the disadvantaged in different countries. From July 1 to 14, "Spread Love of Taiwan - Charity Exchange about Sending Love to United Kingdom and Learning from Social Enterprises" was organized. 2. July 4 (Fri.), Chou Chin-Hua (Founder of Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation), Guo Ying-Lan (President of Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation), Chou Shang-Guan (Director, International Exchange Center), Chou Tien-Guan (Head of the Chou Ta-Kuan Children's Ensemble) and other members visited the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K., Edinburgh in the morning – paid attribute to all colleagues from Su Jen-Chung (Director, Taipei Representative Office in the U.K. and Edinburgh), Chang Chih-Han (Secretary). In the afternoon, they visited the Social Enterprise Scotland Fraster Kelly (CEO) and discussed matters concerning the operation of social enterprises, and were invited to attend the "2014 Social Enterprise World Forum" (http://www.socialenterpriseworldforum.org/) held in Seoul, Korea. 3. July 7 (Mon.), Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation and other members had breakfast with Yosifu, the first Amis contemporary artist debuting on the world stage who is now living in Edinburgh. Yosifu shared his life stories, and the Foundation planned to present him the "Fervent Global Love of Lives Award" and the "Literary Composition Award" to affirm him. 4. July 8 (Tue.): Visited John M. Hull, winner of the 6th Fervent Global Love of Lives Award (the first blind dean of the School of Education, University of Birmingham), and visited the Queen Foundation of UK for exchange. 5. July 10 (Wed.): At the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K., "Press Conference: Spread Love of Taiwan – Taiwan and Britain Formed Sister Foundations: Jointly Promote Social Enterprises to Free the Poor in Different Countries".
(1) Chou Tien-Guan played the ocarina and gave a salute to the Representative Liu of Taipei Representative Office in the U.K. and all guests present.
(2) Invited the correspondents with British BBC and The Times for coverage: To enhance the public service image of Taiwan, spread the love of Taiwan music to the international stage and meanwhile take continuous care of the disadvantaged groups.
(3) Signed agreements to become sister foundations with the International Religious Education and Value Association of UK and the Big Issue magazine, and jointly promoted social enterprise in different countries and helped the disadvantaged. (4) Practiced "Boundless Love", donated 1,000 volumes of Chou Ta-Kuan's I Still Have One Leg (Chinese-English version) to benefit the British blind friends, the homeless and other disadvantaged groups, shared life stories with John M. Hull and John Bird, and spread love of Taiwan. (5) On behalf of 290,000 domestic and foreign volunteers of Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation, visited Taipei Representative Office in the U.K., Edinburgh and expressed gratitude, and cheered up all of Taiwan's diplomatic personnel.
(6) July 12 (Sat.) "Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation and other members visited the University of Cambridge, exchanged with the volunteers of the University of Cambridge. Along the River Cam, they observed humanity, history and vision of 31 colleges and experienced the poetic scene of "Saying Goodbye to Cambridge Again". How touching it was.
