Autistic Talent—Te-Chia Lo (Taiwan)
[Break through Autism and Embrace Sunshine]

You will never see the sunshine in the gloomy corner!
You can make it as long as you work hard!
It seems that there is no way out,
But you can find a way to success as long as you are hopeful and confident.

 —Te-Chia Lo
Now a junior student in Department of Visual Communication Design, Taipei College of Maritime Technology, Te-Chia Lo has suffered from autism since his childhood. To make matters worse, he was also diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Therefore, he is subject to great injury physically and mentally due to the strange look and rejection from other people. In severe cases, he is often absent from class and has become a frequent visitor to go for psychiatric rehabilitation in the hospital.
It is most valuable that his father and brothers have never abandoned him and his mother Wan-Ting Liu accompanies him all the time. Fortunately, he is good at drawing and has become the champion of various drawing contests; meanwhile he is the first outstanding alumnus to hold a solo exhibition in Private Chih-Kwang Senior Vocational Business & Technology High School and even the top student in the Department of Visual Communication Design, Taipei College of Maritime Technology, which is very touching.
Consequently, he regards autism and obsessive-compulsive disorder as a stepping stone and feels grateful for his parents’ love to never give up him. He deserves the title of “Autism Talent” -- Break through Autism and Embrace Sunshine; Defeat OCD and Live with Hope; Aspire for Global Journey of Life and Reflect the Truth, Goodness and Beauty in the World with His Paintbrush.
